An obligation to others, rather than working on a favorite project, is what keeps Hoellerbauer, an Apprentice Teacher for the modern languages and literatures department and a grader for the math department, up at night.

“Sometimes I feel I stay up until 3:00 a.m. or something like that grading math homework,” Hoellerbauer said. “When I knew I had this essay to do and I knew I could email the professor I grade for [saying] that I won’t be able to turn in that stuff … I [felt] a more pressing need to grade that than I do to do my other homework. It’s a job. So, in that sense, I think [I stay up late] because [other] people need it.”
